Things I've Seen

I've seen Termite tunnels in crawl spaces, Ant nests in insulation above suspended ceilings in a finished basement.

I've seen ants in saturated roofing plywood in an attic where the owner was trying to figure out where they were coming from for years.

I've seen hot and cold water hooked up backwards in a shower.

One time I happened to look under a bridge that went over a brook which connected the driveway to the home I was inspecting. It wasn't part of the inspection but I found a rusted out steel I beam. That repair would have cost the buyer just over $20,000.00 to repair. The seller made the repair and the sale went through.

Once I noticed a power line had chafed on an aluminum rain gutter and added 120 volts of electricity to the gutters and down spouts. The seller said it always smelled like something was burning when it rained.
